St. Jacob-Park, Basel Switzerland

June 10-14, 2009

Bridge Art Fair is proud to announce its inaugural edition of Bridge Basel, to take place June 10-14, 2009, in Basel, Switzerland concurrent with the esteemed Art Basel.

Bridge Basel 09 will be held at the architecturally prestigious St. Jakob-Park, within walking distance of the Schaulager Collection and the Dreispitz’ cultural center. St. Jakob Park is designed and built by world famous architects Herzog & de Meuron, the architects of the acclaimed Bird’s Nest at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  In the Bridge tradition of transforming spaces into art spaces and galleries, Bridge in Basel will be built on the soccer field of St. Jakob-Park, and will host 100-300 participants and special projects.

Bridge Basel 09 is strengthened by the partnership of many elite international and Swiss partners including TRIEBWERK Productions, the largest event company in Switzerland, with extensive experience in marketing, conception and planning of international events, including Sony Ericsson, Campari, Helvetia expositions and VOLTA fairs in Basel.

Bridge partner Nussli Schweiz AG-Huttwilen brings decades of experience in exhibit construction for fairs such as Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach and Volta, promising a pristine exhibition at Bridge Basel 09.  Bridge Art Fair is also partnering with Swiss cultural institutions, foundations, and non-governmental organizations to produce programming and international collaboration.

“After two years of extensive preparation, Bridge is proud to announce such a major expansion.” Says Bridge Founder and Director Michael Workman, “This alliance with TRIEBWERK introduces a new combination of international contacts and resources to Art Basel.”
