Dorsch Gallery announces its schedule for "Classroom"

Nov 4 - (1:00 - 2:30pm) - Kerry Ware and Art Institute of Miami students - Postmodern Contemporary, lecture on Minimalism Earth art. - part of Classroom at Dorsch Gallery
Kerry Ware, an artist represented by Dorsch Gallery and an educator for over 15 years, will teach his weekly Art History class, which usually takes place at Miami Interntaional University of Art Design, at Dorsch Gallery’s Classroom.

Nov 5 - (2:00 - 4:30pm) - Fred Snitzer and NWSA BFA Seniors - Fred Snitzer teaches his Senior Project Class - part of Classroom at Dorsch Gallery
Fred Snitzer, owner of Fredric Snitzer Gallery, will bring his weekly Senior Projects class to Classroom. The students are seniors in the New World School of the Arts BFA program. In the course, Snitzer asks the students to develop an artist statement, which they refine each week. In each class they respond to their artist statements by making self-portraits that respond to these statements. 

Nov 6 - (5:30 - 7:00pm) - Roxanne Cocina and FIU students - Roxanne Cocina teaches her regular Art Appreciation Class - part of Classroom at Dorsch Gallery
Roxanne Cocina, teacher at Florida International University and performance artist, asked the students from her online Art Appreciation class to meet at Classroom. This will be the class’s first physical meeting session of the semester.

Nov 6 - (5:00 - 8:00 pm) Ralph Provisero - Centerbeam at MIUAD.
Ralph Provisero will be having an exhibit of new work at the Miami International University of Art & Design from Nov 6 - Dec 1. Opening reception Nov 6 from 5-8 MIUAD is located at 1501 Biscayne Blvd Suite 100. Image Attached 

Nov 7 - (6:00 - 7:00pm) - Ruba Katrib - part of Classroom at Dorsch Gallery
Ruba Katrib, Assistant Curator at Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, speaks about her recent projects: Dark Continents and the exhibition at MoCA Goldman. 

Nov 8 - (7:00 - 10:30 pm) - Mark Koven - Closing Reception for A Stone’s Throw - at Dorsch Gallery
Last chance to see and participate in this interactive exhibition. Bring some sand, make a stone, then choose to either skip or catapult a stone on the field of 31 tons of sand in the gallery.

Nov 14 15 - (8:30 - 10 PM) - Tigertail Presents the Florida Premiere: Tere O’Connor Dance - RAMMED EARTH - at Dorsch Gallery
Guggenheim Bessie Award-winner Tere O’Connor explorers architecture as a fundamental, subliminal force in choreography as well as in the human experience. Presented in the bare setting of an industrial building turned art gallery, Rammed Earth defies expectations. Audience members become active participants in this performance as the are escorted into different viewing positions throughout the evening. $30 General Admission - Limited Seating, one price only for these performances

Through Sept 30, 2009 - Under The Influence at The Girls Club
Dorsch Gallery artist Elisabeth Condon will be among the artists featured in “Under the Influence”, which opened, October 22, 7-10pm at Girls Club Collection, 117 NE 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, FL.”Under the influence is jointly curated by Francie Bishop Good, Jane Hart and Michelle Weinberg.
