This summer, Danny Ramírez inaugurates a solo show at Diaspora Vibe Gallery. The exhibition entitled “Mr. Meyers: My Sweet Jane” is part of the author’s “Starbucks series.”

Ramírez, a 1995 graduate of the New World School of the Arts (Miami), has exhibited his work widely in several Florida cities, as well as in New York. His works have been included in exhibitions in Aruba and Grenada. He is currently one of the Resident Artists at Diaspora Vibe Gallery

His works, in which he displays his virtuosity as a draftsman, use the language of comics to reflect on certain universal themes that affect society and which are of concern to him as a human being. He himself states: “My work is a visual storyboard of thoughts and feelings, which represent something personal or universal. The drawings reflect not only my experiences, but also the very real experiences of others. It attempts to shed light on the darkness we all have inside and to provoke a person into delving deep into his or her own subconscious while searching out his or her true essence.”
