Through January 31, 2009

“Migration,” a collaborative exhibition of works by New York artists, Kevin Paulsen and Joe Concra, opens at Kelley Roy Gallery.

“Migration” presents the contrasting themes and styles of Paulsen’s and Concra’s paintings, all of which have rich surfaces. Paulsen’s still-life paintings and landscapes evoke a concept of nature that appears to be from a different era; simple shapes of color become symbols of aliveness and possibility. Concra’s work, on the other hand, exudes a melancholic undertone portrayed in his paintings by the dark hues and the ineffable sadness of his subjects.   Also featured are mixed-media collages by South Florida artist, Robert Swedroe, and the paintings of Mike Tesch.

Kelley Roy Gallery is located at 50 NE 29th St. Miami, FL 33137

Open Tues-Fri 10 AM-5 PM; Sat. 12-5 PM
